Nestled in the Western Catskills, Buck Brook Alpacas is a 38-acre working alpaca farm where animal care, sustainable farming, and agritourism come together. The farm has been raising and breeding alpacas since 2013, with a focus on strong genetics, responsible animal care, and maintaining a clean, environmentally friendly farm.

Around 30 baby alpacas are born at Buck Brook each year, and the farm also provides care for alpacas belonging to other farms. Its herd includes prestigious bloodlines such as Snowmass Best Man, Everlasting Paramount, Velvet Touché, and Matrix Majesty. Buck Brook is also certified for international alpaca quarantine, with quarantines rotated quarterly.

The farm’s work extends beyond raising alpacas. Each May, the animals are shorn for their valuable fiber, which is lightweight, warm, water-resistant, and naturally hypoallergenic. The fiber is cleaned and spun locally into yarn and transformed into blankets, rugs, and other alpaca-fiber products available through the farm store and at local markets.

Agritourism is an important part of the Buck Brook experience. The farm welcomes thousands of visitors each year, offering guests the opportunity to meet the alpacas, learn about their fiber, and experience life on a working farm. Visitors can also enjoy the farm’s beautiful Catskills setting and seasonal events, including the annual National Alpaca Day and Fall Festival in September.

Located just seven miles from the Roscoe, NY exit off Route 17, Buck Brook Alpacas is open year-round and offers visitors a chance to connect with these remarkable animals and discover the many ways alpaca fiber can be enjoyed.
